The idea came from a friend of our family: with Ästhetik MainTaunus she runs a private practice for plastic surgery in Bad Soden am Taunus – and felt my portraits belonged right there. Beauty, expression, faces: the practice’s theme and my paintings aren’t that far apart.
Since then, four of my 60 × 60 canvases have been hanging in the practice: Marilyn Monroe, Kate Moss, Audrey Hepburn and Madelyn Cline. All four are painted with Montana spray cans and Posca markers – soft pastels instead of loud colours, matching the bright rooms.
The paintings are a permanent loan and can be bought on site. The practice puts you in touch, and for every painting sold I paint a new one for the wall – so the exhibition keeps changing.
